Asia Aveli
Multidisciplinary artist

"Freedom from stereotypes is something that cannot be achieved in the physical world, but it is something I am willing to shout out about in my art through the use of conflicting materials and achieving unity".
Multidisciplinary artist Asia Aveli was born in 1980 in Kyrgyzstan, which she left at the age of 23. After living in China and Malaysia until she was 34, she relocated to Russia.

Her artistic journey portrays the story of a multicultural “immigrant” in her own historical homeland.

Her art is a reflection on what freedom truly is.

Asia has dedicated 15 years of her life to ballet and the ornamentation of costumes and large stage sets and the composition of music, all of which convey the mood of different eras and cultures. Instilled in her is a love of beauty and the folklore of the Kyrgyz people, among whom she grew up, adding additional aesthetic shades to the world view she portrays.

Asia's post-graduate education was in the applied arts. Today, her favorite medium is textiles, which entered the world of art with the expression of the ideas of feminism.
The artist explores the relationships between textures and figures, which in her works find unity and integrity, and thus freedom.
